Six-wheeled Formula One cars were a radical and short-lived experiment in the 1970s. The Tyrrell P34 was the only six-wheeled Formula One car to enter a race, and it won the 1976 Swedish Grand Prix. The extra wheels were designed to reduce drag and improve cornering at high speeds.
